Meta's Instagram Launches Threads App

Meta Platforms旗下的Instagram近日正式发布Threads应用程序。

Instagram, owned by Meta Platforms, recently has officially launched its Threads app.

据悉，Threads允许人们发布文本和链接，回复或转发他人的消息。

Threads allows people to post text and links, reply to or forward messages from others.

这款应用允许用户从照片和视频分享应用Instagram获取现有的关注者列表和账户名称。

The app allows users to get a list of existing followers and account names from photo and video sharing app Instagram.

根据 Meta 的说法，该应用程序目前似乎没有使用任何数据来跟踪其他公司拥有的网站和应用程序上的用户，这使得它比 Twitter、Facebook 和 Instagram 更私密。

The app does not currently appear to use any data to track users on websites and apps owned by other companies, making it more private than Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

业界认为，Threads的推出将会对推特形成很大威胁。

The industry believes that the launch of Threads will pose a big threat to Twitter.

三星第二季度营业利润或暴跌96%

Samsung Estimates Profits Plunged 96% in Q2

三星电子表示，由于存储芯片需求持续疲软，预计2023年第二季度营业利润将下降96%。

Samsung Electronics said it expects a 96% profit plunge in the second quarter of 2023 as weak demand for memory chips persists.

该公司预计，4至6月当季的营业利润为6000亿韩圆(约合4.59亿美元)，低于去年同期的14.1万亿韩圆。

The company estimates operating profit in the quarter from April to June to be 600 billion Korean won ($459 million), down from 14.1 trillion Korean won in the same period last year.

根据该公司过去的盈利数据，这将是该公司自2009年一季度录得5900亿韩元以来的最低季度利润。

This would be the company’s lowest quarterly profit since the 590 billion won recorded in the first quarter of 2009, according to the company’s past earnings data.

分析师们表示，由于三星和其他内存芯片制造商削减供应，价格跌幅较前几个季度有所放缓，预计将在第三季度左右触底，不过预计要到2024年才会大幅回升。

Price declines, which have slowed from previous quarters as Samsung and other memory chip makers cut supply, are expected to bottom out around the third quarter, though a significant recovery is not expected until 2024, analysts said.
